OKLAHOMA CITY -- Russell Westbrooks triple-double streak ended at seven games, but he finished the night with two things that meant more to him -- a win and his long-lost shooting stroke.Westbrook scored 23 of his 37 points in the second half to help the Oklahoma City Thunder defeat the Boston Celtics 99-96 on Sunday. He had 12 rebounds but only six assists, ending the NBAs longest triple-double run since Michael Jordan had seven straight in 1989.Westbrook hadnt been satisfied. He shot just under 38 percent during the streak, and said after Fridays loss to Houston that it bothered him. Against the Celtics, he made 14 of 26 shots and finally found his rhythm.Just taking shots I wanted to take, that was the most important part, he said. And playing from the block. Thats the most important part. I talked to my dad this morning, and he got on me about not using that to my advantage, and I definitely tried to do more of that tonight.Westbrook wasnt worried about the streak ending.Honestly, Im just happy we won tonight, he said. Thats the most important thing. As a player, I always try to look forward. Maybe at the end of the season, I can talk about it, but as of right now, my job is to move forward and get ready for Portland.Steven Adams scored 16 points on 7-for-8 shooting and Enes Kanter added 14 points for the Thunder, who have won seven of eight. Oklahoma City got away with making just 14 of 27 free throws.Al Horford scored 19 points, and Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley each added 18 for the Celtics. The Celtics controlled most of the first half and led 43-39 at halftime. It was Oklahoma Citys lowest-scoring first half of the season. The Celtics led by 13 in the third quarter, but the Thunder whittled their deficit to four by the end of the period.Westbrook made a driving layup with 30.6 seconds left to give the Thunder a 96-94 lead. Westbrook then won a jump ball with Bradley to start a fast break, and Jerami Grant finished it with a dunk that put Oklahoma City up 98-94 with 14.4 seconds to play.Marcus Smart scored in close for Boston to make it 98-96. Westbrook made the first of two free throws with 5.1 seconds left to leave the door open, but Smarts 3-pointer for the tie bounced away as time expired.I think we just stopped moving the ball, Bradley said. We took some bad shots. We werent able to score the ball. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Given how the season has played out for the Jacksonville Jaguars, its probably fitting they are on the verge of making NFL history for futility. The Jaguars (2-7) have gone nearly six games -- more than 23 quarters or 289 minutes, 21 seconds to be exact -- without a takeaway. The five-game streak is tied for the longest drought in the NFL since the 1970 merger, according to Pro Football Reference. Washington (2006), Indianapolis (2011), St. Louis (2012), Philadelphia (2012) and Baltimore (2015) also went five games without a takeaway.Jacksonville can set the mark Sunday at Detroit (5-4). Since the Lions are tied for second in the NFL with just six turnovers in nine games, the Jaguars cant count on getting any help, either.Oh, its in our heads, cornerback Aaron Colvin acknowledged. Weve got to find a way to get the ball. I feel like guys are conscious of trying to get the ball and stealing possessions, but its just not being handed to us, I can say. Sometimes with turnovers its tricky because if you start forcing it then bad things can happen and you start playing out of the defense, playing out of yourself. I really dont have any answers for you.The Jaguars, who have dropped four in a row, had never gone more than three games without a takeaway before this season.Contributing factors are a lack of consistent pass rush -- Jacksonville has four sacks in the last five games -- and rarely playing with the lead. The Jaguars have led for just 2 minutes, 49 seconds during those games. The streak should have ended two weeks ago at Kansas City and again last week against Houston .Against the Chiefs, Jaguars cornerback Prince Amukamara was in position to catch Nick Foles overthrow in the middle of the field when safety Tashaun Gipson crashed in him wwhile trying to get the pick.ddddddddddddLast week, linebacker Paul Posluszny had a bead on Brock Osweilers errant pass across the middle when teammate Malik Jackson stuck out a hand and deflected the ball away. Its more execution than bad luck, Posluszny said. Were not giving our offense the opportunities they need. Another game without a takeaway is the most disappointing part of (the game). We can play very sound fundamental defense, but we have to make plays that impact the game.It hasnt happened, and the Jaguars are minus-12 in turnover differential during the streak. Jacksonville is minus-14 on the season, last in the NFL . Coach Gus Bradleys team has just five takeaways on the season. The last one came during a 30-27 victory against Indianapolis in London on Oct. 2.Defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. came free on a line stunt and tipped Andrew Lucks pass in the first quarter. The deflected ball landed in rookie Yannick Ngakoues hands and led to a touchdown.Jacksonvilles last takeaway on American soil came Sept. 23 against Baltimore, when Fowler hit Joe Flaccos arm as he was releasing the ball. Posluszny hauled in the wobbly pass late in the fourth quarter. It led to a field-goal attempt, which was blocked, and the Jaguars ended up losing 19-17.Now, nearly two months later, the Jags on the verge of making NFL history.Weve just got to do more to get the ball out, defensive tackle Malik Jackson said. It has to be more than luck. We have to put ourselves in great positions. ... We just got to do better. Weve got to do more. Weve just got to do more, man.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
