Tottenham striker Harry Kane says he is dreaming of breaking Alan Shearers Premier League goalscoring record, after taking his seasons tally to 21 against Bournemouth on Sunday. Kane scored twice as Spurs secured a 3-0 win at White Hart Lane, equalling last seasons haul, and bringing his career league total to 45. The 22-year-old becomes just the fifth Englishman to score 20 goals in consecutive Premier League campaigns, alongside Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Andy Cole and Robbie Fowler.Shearer is at the top of the Premier Leagues all-time scoring list with 260, and England international Kane has revealed he takes inspiration from the former Newcastle captain, and is hoping he can one day better the record. Its a lot of goals and Im still a long way off but Shearer was an idol of mine growing up, to see how many goals he scored was incredible, Kane said. Alan Shearer scored 260 Premier League goals I take it season by season. I dont like looking too far ahead because you never know what can happen. But is it good to aim for? Definitely, theyre the goals you dream of.When youre a younger player, you watch them scoring goals week in and week out, so to be doing that now is a dream come true.Kane is now two goals ahead of Jamie Vardy and three clear of Romelu Lukaku in the battle to be the leagues top scorer for the season. No English player has topped the scoring charts since Kevin Phillips struck 30 goals for Sunderland in the 1999-2000 season. Harry Kane has overtaken Jamie Vardy as the Premier Leagues top scorer this season While Kane has taken inspiration from Shearer, he is hoping his own continued form can inspire other young English strikers to make the step up to the highest level. If I can be a role model or if I can maybe make another manager play a young player coming through, rather than buy a player, thats incredible, Kane said. Harry Kane opens the scoring against Bournemouth on Sunday I think sometimes managers like to buy players because theyre more experienced from abroad or when theyve got players under their nose that will give everything to the club theyve been brought up with. The more people get chances at a young age, I think youll see more talent coming through as we have done this season. She is hoping to play on Saturday.I really wanted to join my partner Mel at some point during the match, but at the advice of the medical team, the best thing to do was to rest and get healthy for my team for tomorrow, she said in a statement released by the LPGA Tour.Reid holed out with a wedge from 70 yards on the par-4 13th, squaring the match. But Nomura birdied the final three holes to help Japan to the win. They finished birdie-birdie-birdie. I finished birdie-par-birdie, Reid said. Theres nothing you can really do.
